BOW TYPES

1. Modern Recurve Bows: The shape at the top and bottom of the bow curve back away from the archer at each tip. giving its 're-curve' name. Currently, modern recurve bows are the only bow type allowed in the Olympics and are what most competitive archers shoot. 2. Compound bows: Widely used in hunting and target archery, the compound bow is highly mechanical and makes use of cables, pulleys, and leverage to aid the archer. 3. Traditional Bows: Traditional Archery offers two general models of bows. One being the longbow and the other being the Recurve Bow. Our Traditional courses teach the Asiatic Style Bows (Han Bows & Korean Traditional Recurve bows), with a thumb draw & release technique.
